2 ways, first, if you live near a zoo, try to get them to give you some urine from a tiger or lion. No fooling, it works just spread it around the perimeter. But the easiest way is to go to the hardware store and get one of those sensors for your sprinkler hose. When it senses movement in the area you set it for, it comes on and sprays offending dogs, cats, and neighbor kids too. Also sprays you if you forget to turn it off!! It works, I use them in my garden and on my front lawn to keep dogs from using it as a latrine.

Do you know who they belong to? if so, talk to the owners and let them know your feeling towards this, if not, get a live trap, which will not hurt the animals, and simple re-locate them to other area’s.
I have maintained for years that cat owners be subject to the same laws and treatment as dog owners, that is, license your pets and keep them in your own yard.
I have tried everything mentioned here so far and few not mentioned, and nothing seems to work, so I went to using the traps, worked fine.
If people really cared for their pets, they wouldn’t be running loose causing other people headaches.

    fox urine!
they sell it at the hardware stores , not only keeps the cats away, it also helps with chipmunks, rabbits, squirrels, etc.
I used that with my male cat to get him away from the garage (his favorite toilet room) for a few days and he never went back there again

we used moth balls to get our cat to quit using our flower bed as a toilet it’s inexpensive and you can pick it up at any wal-mart store.

I have heard of the moth ball thing before but my mom used to put clear jars of water in her flower beds as cats generally will not pee where they feel there is a source water for them. My mom swore by it.
